Shark Reef Encounter at Sea Life Park Oahu: Shallow-Lagoon Snorkel & Fish Feeding
Snorkel in Sea Life Park’s Hawaiian Reef Lagoon during a 20-minute, shallow-water session where you will feed tropical fish and safely observe native whitetip reef sharks (ages 4+; gear provided). Before you enter the water, a 15 minute classroom briefing covers safety and marine-life facts. Plan roughly two hours on site including the encounter, presentations, changing time, and photo lab.

Shark Reef Snorkel Details
- Experience: 20-minute shallow-water Reef Encounter to snorkel, feed and play with Hawaiian tropical fish and watch the white tip sharks.
- Briefing: 15–20 minute educational classroom presentation before entering the water.
- Time on site: Plan 1 1/2 hours for reef encounter, presentation, changing time, and photo lab (many guests spend 3–4 hours in the park).
- Group size: Limited to 10 participants for a personal experience.
- Age & supervision: Minimum age 4 (must fit a life vest); ages 4–7 require one paid participant age 13+ per child.
- Gear & attire: Life jackets, mask & snorkel are provided; wetsuits not provided—bring your own bathing suit and towel.

What is the Shark Reef Snorkel experience?
A guided, 20-minute shallow-water snorkel in the Hawaiian Reef Lagoon where you’ll safely observe native white tip sharks & reef life and feed tropical fish after a 15–20 minute classroom briefing.
How long should I plan for the whole visit?
Plan about 2 hours total including check-in, briefing, the snorkel, presentation, changing time, and photo lab. Many guests spend 3–4 hours exploring the park’s shows and exhibits.
Are mask, snorkel, and fins provided?
Mask and snorkel are provided (with a flotation vest). Fins are not included.
What are the age and supervision requirements?
Minimum age is 4 (must fit a life vest). Children ages 4–7 require one paid participant age 13+ per child in the water.
Do I need to be a strong swimmer?
Strong swimming isn’t required, but basic comfort in the water is recommended. Life vests are provided for all participants.
What should I bring and what’s provided?
Bring a bathing suit and towel. Life vests, masks, and snorkels are provided. Wetsuits are not provided. Lockers, showers, and changing rooms are available.
Can I wear jewelry or bring a camera?
No jewelry, body piercings, fingernail jewelry, or loose objects in the water. No personal cameras in the water. Observers may take photos/video from viewing areas.
Are professional photos available?
Yes, a professional photographer captures your experience (no video). Photo packages start at $55 and up.
Is the program suitable during pregnancy or with medical limitations?
No pregnant participants. If you have any physical or mental limitations, please contact us before booking to ensure accommodations.
What language is the briefing in?
Instructions are provided in English. Participants must understand English or have a paid family member/friend in the water to translate.
Where is Sea Life Park and how do I get there?
Sea Life Park is on Oʻahu’s Waimānalo (east) coast. From Waikīkī it’s about 30–40 minutes by car (traffic/weather may vary). Shuttle service from Waikīkī hotels is available for $35 + tax round-trip (reserve in advance). TheBus routes 23 and 69 stop near the park. Parking is $18 cash per car.
Are there food and facilities on site?
Yes. Food is available for purchase. The park provides lockers, showers, and changing rooms.
What is the payment policy for parking, food, drinks, photos, and souvenirs?
Sea Life Park is totally cashless. All point-of-sale locations—including parking, food & beverages, photo packages, and gift shops/souvenirs—accept major credit cards, debit cards, and contactless wallets: Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay. Cash is not accepted. Please bring a card or a supported mobile wallet for all purchases.
What’s the cancellation or reschedule policy?

- 14–8 days: 75% service charge
- 7 days or less, late arrival, or no-show: No refund
